League Two
Bromley (1) 2 Ifill 39, Cameron 49
Shrewsbury Town (1) 1 Ihionvien 6
Bromley cemented their status as favourites to become League Two champions as they came from behind to beat Shrewsbury Town.
Victory at their Copperjax Community Stadium fortress puts them seven points clear at the top of the table with four matches remaining of the season.
Shrewsbury opened the scoring against the run of play in fine style in the 6th minute after a fast counter attack through Bradley Ihionvien with a left footed shot which Grant Smith almost smothered - but the force of the shot took it over the line.
The visitors were comfortable soaking up the Bromley pressure until six minutes before the interval when the Ravens equalised in the 39th minute through Marcus Ifill with a right footed shot at the back post hooked in, with Will Hondemarck the provider.
After the interval Bromley upped the gears and four minutes into the second half Kyle Cameron volleyed in with a left footed shot to make it 2-1 after heavy pressure on the Shrewsbury goal.
Bromley are unbeaten in all 20 of their home league games this season (won twelve, drawn eight). The last team to have a longer run from the start of a League Two campaign were Shrewsbury in 2011-12, who remained unbeaten in all 23 that season.
Bromley came into the game with three wins against Bristol Rovers (home) 1-0, Newport County (away) 1-0 and Colchester United (home) 1-0, one draw against Barnet (away) 2-2 last time out on Good Friday and one defeat against Barrow (away) 1-2.
Meanwhile, Shrewsbury Town came into the game off the back of one win last time out on Good Friday against Tranmere Rovers (home) 1-0 and four defeats against Newport County (away) 0-1, Crew Alexandra (home) 0-4, Bristol Rovers (away) 0-1 and Cheltenham Town (home) 0-2.
Bromley started the match top of the league four points clear of Milton Keynes Dons and Notts County on 80 points. Shrewsbury Town started the game in 18th spot on 44 points some 11 points above the relegation bottom two.
The Ravens upped the pace impressively after falling a goal behind early in the game.
Nicke Kabamba was denied with a header by Matthew Cox in the Shrewsbury goal in the15th minute. then with Bromley’s next attack Omar Sowunmi saw a header from the centre of the penalty area go just wide of the target.
Iwan Morgan had a right footed shot saved by Grant Smith in the 16th minute for Shrewsbury. In the 24th minute Corey Whitely saw a header go wide of the target from an assist by Idris Odutayo.
Bromley pushed for an equaliser before the interval with Kabamba and Sowunmi pushed into the penalty area for their height and it paid off with an equaliser to make it 1-1 in the 39th minute.
And they completed the turnaround with Camern's left foot volley soon after the break.
Bromley went close to a third but Damola Jjayi left footed shot flashed high over the crossbar in the 70th minute.
Bromley ended the night seven points clear at the top of the table with home games against Cambridge United and Walsall to come and trips to Milton Keynes Dons and Salford City. The next game at Stadium MK on Saturday is a massive game for Andy Woodman’s side.
