Emma Hayes has bolstered her attacking options for next season with the signing of tricky winger Niamh Charles from relegated Liverpool Women.

Charles is a youth product with the Scousers, and at 21 has her best years ahead of her.

Hayes is determined to make sure she has significant cover in all positions as next season will be the toughest WSL title challenge ever - she is also is setting her sights on reaching the Champions League final.

To do that she will need players to open up a tight game and provide the goal-scoring prowess needed to overcome the dourest of opposition or go toe-to-toe with the best like Lyon or Wolfsburg and come out on top.

"Her abilities out wide will be utilised on both flanks. She knows what it takes to succeed here and she has a great head on her shoulders.

"I’m excited to show the fans her pace and ability in one-v-one situations."

Three players have left Kingsmeadow so far this summer, Anita Asante is the latest following Adelina Engman who has joined French outfit Montpellier HSC and Deanna Cooper.
