Fabregas is happy at Chelsea but could consider exiting the Bridge in January

Cesc Fabregas feels he has to convince head coach Maurizio Sarri to change his mind and play him in a more advanced role, and while he insists he is happy at Chelsea, the prospect of a move from Stamford Bridge in January is something to consider.
The Spain midfielder pulled all the strings as the Blues defeated Frank Lampard’s Derby County side in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night to earn the right to play Bournemouth in round 5.
Of the prospects of convincing Sarri to play him more in the Premier League, Fabregas said: “I didn’t play for the first three or four months under Antonio Conte until a game against Manchester City, which changed Antonio’s mind about me.
“After that I played in every game. The only thing I have to try to change in this manager’s way is that he only sees me as a player in front of the defence. I have been playing all my life further forward. I’m not saying I can play now every three days for 90 minutes for 60 games a season. I probably can’t do that in a sharp way anymore. “From my point of view it is better to just be fresh for when I do get to play.”
And if, come January things haven’t changed, the 31-year-old said: “We will see. Now I am playing once a week. Some play in the Premier League, some play in the Europa League and Carabao Cup. We will see when the time comes (before Christmas), when the Europa League (group stage) ends for two months, plus the Carabao Cup.
“Then it will only be the Premier League. In life, not just football, timing is the most important thing. You don’t have to rush decisions, you don’t have to talk before things happen. I still believe in myself a lot and think I can add so much to this team. But I am happy here.”
Chelsea women beat Fiorentina 6-0 away in Italy to progress to the last eight of the Champions League winning 7-0 on aggregate. A hat-trick from Fran Kirby and goals from Drew Spence, Erin Cuthbert and Ramona Bachmann saw the Blues cruise home. Millie Bright was sent off for denying a goal-scoring opportunity.
