Strikes from Aggie Beever-Jones, Maika Hamano and Kadeisha Buchanan saw off Aston Villa who were reduced to 10-players early on when Anna Leat was red-carded for handling the ball outside the area.

It was unlucky for Villa who otherwise might have put pressure on a Chelsea side lowish in confidence after two straight cup loses.

But they are back on top of the WSL on goal difference to Manchester City.
