David Fofana (Exclusive): Chelsea? I'll be back, Nicolas Jackson isn't better than me
Exclusive by Alessandro Schiavone at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
David, now is perhaps not the appropriate time to talk as Burnley just got relegated. You only joined the Clarets on loan in January from Chelsea but could you give us an insight into where it's all gone wrong?
"There's not much I have to say about our relegation. It's football, there are ups but also downs, it can happen. We've got to get on with it."
Was there a sliding door moment you look back on where the damage was done?
"The decisive game was today [yesterday at Spurs]. We had to win to keep our hopes of survival alive. The mood in the dressing room? [Despite the confirmed relegation] it was positive."
You got off to a flyer with a brace against Fulham on your home debut. But it was a flash in the pan, a false dawn. You've only scored two more. Why?
"It's life, I had a bright start to my Burnley career but then the manager made his decisions. I don't wanna go into details."
Are you going back to Chelsea this summer?
"I haven't thought about it yet. I think I'll go back and why not do the pre-season with Chelsea? [In January], I wanted to stay but some things happened... but for sure I have nothing to envy Nicolas Jackson, who is [also] my friend."
