Crystal Palace had the joy of a 4-2 win against Wolverhampton to establish a new Premier League points tally at 52, three more than the previous one.

The FA Cup winners had to fight back after Emmanuel Agbadou gave the visitors the lead with a header after 24 minuted.

Eddie Nketiah, trying to clear off the line, came a split-second too late.

But the ex-Arsenal hotshot made amends for it with a brace either side of the half-hour mark.

He first scored via a deflection from keeper Bentley before making Ismaila Sarr's square pass count at the far-post with a clinical tap-in.

Ben Chilwell's deflected free-kick extended the lead at the start of the second half. It was the Chelsea loanee's first goal in over two years.

But Jørgen Strand Larsen headed home from a corner to give Vitor Pereira's men hope.

Yet those were dashed when Ebere Eze, who scored the most important goal in the club's history against Man City in the FA Cup final, glided past a couple of defenders before rolling home four minutes before time.

The first trophy, the highest-ever Premier League points telly, a Community Shield against Liverpool in August and European football in the form of Europa League : this is a season nobody around SE25 will ever forget.

And to get a taste of what's lying ahead the club played the Europa League anthem just before Joel Ward's emotional farewell celebrations after the final whistle.

Yet the feel-good factor could evaporate before we know it because the break-up of a team is often the price you pay for success.

And the risk that superstars Eze and Marc Guehi won't stick around is real.

Will the trip to Anfield to face Liverpool on Sunday be their final outing in Palace colours?
