Kirby inspires England as they thrash Kazakhstan 5-0

Chelsea’s ‘mini Messi’ Fran Kirby came off the bench for the Lionesses, scored a goal with her second touch and inspired England to four goals in 12 minutes as they thrashed Kazakhstan 5-0 at Colchester United's ground tonight.

England finish 2017 on a high in their bid for qualification for the World Cup in France in 2019.

Already 1-0 up through debutant Mel Lawlwy. Kirby smacked home a penalty on 64 minutes two minutes after coming offf the bench.

Nikita Parris hit the back of the net twice, again with assists from Kirby.

Izzy Christiansen'finished off the game with the simplest of chances.

England remain in second place in Group A having won all three of their qualification matches so far.

They are three points behind Wales who also have a 100 per cent record but have played one more game.

They face each other in the spring at Southampton’s St Mary's Stadium.
