On Tottenham's start to the season: "I think it's been positive! Obviously a new manager implemented new ideas... so I think they take time to fully embed. You can obviously see the changes that he's made there. He brought some new players in. I think Palhinha is a big plus for them so for them to kind of try and implement the new gameplan and the new structures that he's put in place... I think they've done well so far. But I'd expect them to get better as the season progresses."

He looks as though he's changed the team's face already and eradicated all their defensive issues under Ange Postecoglou in a couple of months... did you expect it?

"I think he's had a full pre-season to work with them and that always helps. When a manager comes in and he misses a full pre-season... that makes it difficult. The fact he's had a full pre-season to implement his ideas, you go away on camps and you got a lot of time working with the players... so for him to have had that is key. But he's probably ahead of schedule I'd imagine."

What do you make of Lucas Bergvall's meteoric rise and how far he can go?

"I like Bergvall, he's a lovely footballer and I think technically he's really good! He gets around the pitch really well and I think he's clever. He takes up some really nice positions in the build. He understands the game, he sees the game... and like I said playing next to Palhinha who brings a wealth of experience and physicality that will help Bergvall as well."

Palhinha had a tough time at Bayern but he looks to be back to his Fulham best: "He's a top player and I really like him. It's difficult when you go to a club like Bayern Munich who have a lot of quality players and the expectations are high. I watched him a lot when he was at Fulham and Tottenham made a brilliant signing. I am not surprised to see him doing so well."

One small correction. Andy was never and will never be a Spurs legend. A good player but not a legend. That’s reserved for players like King, Greaves, Hoddle, Ardiles, Jennings, even. Mabs and Roberts but not Andy, sorry.
