Son Heung-Min: Every manager at Spurs was world-class but Conte is special

Tottenham Hotspur’s South Korean superstar Son-Heung Min labelled Antonio Conte ‘world-class’ but pointed out that the same applied to his successors.

Son joined Tottenham from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen and worked under Mauricio Pochettino, Jose Mourinho and Nuno Espirito Santo before the arrival of the decorated Italian.

But there is something about the ‘special’ ex-Juventus and Inter Milan manager that sets him apart from all the others.

And that’s the driven Italian’s love for the game and for life in general.

Each day is a learning process with the meticulous and demanding four-time Scudetto winner.

In an interview with Capital Football Son, who is yet to win a trophy in SEVEN years in North London, said: “Every single manager I’ve worked with was a world-class manager.

“I’m very happy now that I’m working with Conte because he gives something special such as passion about football, about life.

“I am learning so many things from him.

“I’m still learning every day and I want to learn from him.

“He gives us so many details on to the pitch which is really, really important.” If Tottenham are on the verge of qualifying for the Champions League after sensationally leapfrogging Arsenal in the last nine days it’s all down to Conte and the belief he instilled into his players day by day after taking over a dejected club in freefallf in November.

Son added: “I’ve been working with him for six, seven months and he made us believe we can play for the Champions League. Now we’re close, really, really close.”
