Luxembourg 1-3 Northern Ireland
Justin Devenny scored in Northern Ireland's 3-1 win over Luxembourg yesterday night.
Seven minutes into the game, Jamie Reid converted the rebound after Anthony Moris saved Isaac Price's penalty.
Aiman Dardari then fired a low curler past Blackpool goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell to get new FLF manager Jeff Strasser's career up and running on the half-hour mark.
Ex-Kaiserslautern and Borussia Moenchengladbach legend Strasser replaced Luc Holtz after 15 years in charge.
But the joy was short-lived as Shea Carles restored the advantage with a fabulous long-range effort seconds after the restart.
And Devenny ensured Northern Ireland learned their lesson from last November when they squandered a two-goal lead on this turf.
The Palace winger stole in at the far-post before angling a low drive past Saudi Pro League goalie Moris.
Michael O'Neill's men will face Germany, who lost 2-0 in Slovakia yesterday, in Cologne next in match-day of the World Cup qualifiers.
