Millwall in the mood once more as their high-octane approach proves too much for Norwich City

He missed a sitter in last week's 2-0 win at Bristol City but today Tairyk Arconte was the star as the bagged two goals in a dominant win over Norwich.

That makes it two wins out of two for Alex Neil's side, who have started the campaign so impressively. Top of the table and in rampant form. The Canaries down the Den coal mine can testify to the thin air around for away teams.

Last week's two-goal hero Josh Coburn was soon picking up where he left off last week in Bristol - outmuscling a defender to latch onto Casper de Norre's forward pass before thumping a low shot against an upright.

Camiel Neghli's spectacular mid-air volley needed a watchful low save near his own goalline from Canaries keeper Vladan Kovacevic.

Norwich had to weather a fearful early storm but showed they could cause trouble on the break, with Oscar Schwartau missing a great chance from close in. Andre Brooks also missed a good first-half opportunity.

It wasn't too long ago that they won at the Den to put a serious dent in the Lions' promotion push so they trusted their ability to get into the game.

But Millwall's relentless high-press probing got them ahead when Jenson Metcalfe combined with fellow newcomer Mark Sykes down the right and although Kovacecic saved Coburn's strike from Sykes' cross, Arconte was on hand to gobble up the rebound.

The home side's dominance always looked likely to be extended on the scorebaord and when Zak Sturge hoisted a cross up for Jake Cooper to nod down, Arconte was on hand to smash the ball across Kovacevic to make the scoreline finally reflect the balance of play.

For the 22-year-old Guadeloupean international it was quite the home debut.

When the Canaries were reduced to 10 men not long after, the game was up and Millwall fans could start up the oles.

They even had a bit of icing on the cake to enjoy when Neghli selflessly eased a pass through for sub Luke Cundle to tap in.

"West Ham United, we're coming for you!" sang the deliriously happy Lions fans. That clash with their east London foes next month is already taking on an epic feel.
