Jefferson Lerma was in no mood to brand Crystal Palace as favourites against Manchester United.
The Eagles go into Sunday's game sitting two points ahead of the Red Devils in the Premier League.
But the Colombian midfielder told Capital Football: "In the Premier League there are no favourites.
"We need to knuckle down, work hard in training, recuperate and go into the game with a positive mindset."
He then shed light on why Palace ended up losing the Europa Conference League contest across the English channel in Strasbourg on Thursday.
The Bournemouth one-timer lamented a lack of clinical edge.
He said: "It was a difficult game.
"We played against an aggressive side that put us under pressure with their pace.
"And in the end they turned the game around.
"We need to change our mentality and kill the game off earlier.
"We had some clear-cut chances but lacked efficiency in front of goal.
"But we have the opportunity to make amends for it on Sunday when we face Manchester United.
"I am positive that we can go on and get our confidence back.
"Let's look ahead to what is to come."
