Chelsea cruised back to the top of the WSL with an emphatic 4-0 victory against Aston Villa tonight at the Bescott Stadium,

Strikes from Sam Kerr, Beth England, Pernille Harder and Magda Eriksson saw off the Midlanders who stay second bottom of the league.

Chelsea’s dominance was expected and the three point’s ensure another record for the Kingsmeadow outfit. They are now unbeaten in 32 league outings stretching back two years - a defeat to Birmingham City. They overtook Manchester City’s record

Granted Chelsea are top of the league with 29 point on goal difference only with Manchester United.

But the west Londoners have a game in hand and just as significant a nine goal advantage over the Mancunians.
