Fulham continue to get precious little change from the £150 fixture that always falls Man United's way

Fulham (0) 0
Manchester United (0) 1 Martinez 78
Well at least it wasn't a 90th minute defeat for once.
United had won the past two contests at Craven Cottage with last minute winners from Alejandro Garnacho two years ago and Bruno Fernandes last time around.
This time, match winner Lisandro Martinez got the decisive goal a good 12 minutes from time.
Make that eight wins in a row now for United at the Cottage. This is truly a nightmare fixture for the Whites that simply refuses to break from its one-sided narrative, no matter how bad United are or how good Fulham are at any given moment.
It was a huge pity for Marco Silva's men, as both sides fully deserved to get nil in a tortuous stalemate featuring hardly any shots, let alone shots on target.
The cause was not helped by an early injury to Harry Wilson, but that only offers part of an explanation for a subdued performance. Maybe the Whites were just resigned to another loss to United.
Fulham probably don't have the poorest fanbase in the country but many disgruntled Whites fans have complained that the 'family club' tag is being undermined by a surge in prices for A-list games like this one. Tickets were on general sale for £150 for adults. Few would argue they got their money's worth.
Martinez picked up a loose clearance on the edge of the area and his left foot shot deflected off Sasa Lukic to loop just out of reach for Bernd Leno - the German doing well to get a hand to it but unable to get enough purchase to deny the Argentinian.
Joachim Anderson came close to making it 1-1 with a header from a corner that was headed off the line by United sub Toby Collyer but few chances were carved out. An Adama Traore blitzer flying over the bar was one of few shots fired in anger.
Fernandes did hit the side netting with a free-kick but this was a match which deserved a 0-0 outcome.
As it was, United almost bagged another in injury time through Amad Diallo but an offside call from VAR kept it at 1-0. It was hardly a consolation for Fulham, who battled well in midfield with Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey impressively energetic.
Only four games in the Premier League this season have had fewer shots in the first half than the one this evening. The surprise was that the total was six, because it was hard to recall any of them. It summed up the game as a whole.
You have to go back to 1924 to find the last goalless draw between the sides and there have only ever been two between them. This should have been a third but Fulham seem destined to forever lose a fixture they last won in west London in 2009.
