Bees boss Frank: We will win more matches than we lose

By Alessandro Schiavone

Brentford manager Thomas Frank oozed positivity after his side’s unfortunate 2-1 home defeat against Leicester City.

The Bees outplayed the Foxes throughout the game but a lack of cutting edge combined with some sloppy defending cost them the three points.

Despite having nothing to show for their efforts, Frank said he is adamant that the future will hold good things for his men if they keep up their level of performances.

Frank said: “I’m very proud of the players and the team. We performed very well.

“We absolutely hammered Leicester first half. We dominated possession and they had nothing other than a couple of moments of brilliance.

“[In the] second half, we continued and we had a fantastic mentality. I’m only disappointed at the goals where we didn’t get on the ball quicker.

“For the rest of the season, we will win more matches than we lose. That is what we have to believe in.

“If you look at three games we’ve lost at home; Chelsea, we could have won it. Leicester, we could have won it. And Brighton, we could have had a point.

“Those are the fine margins here. I trust my squad.”

Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans put his team ahead with a sumptuous long-range finish before Mathias Jorgensen’s flicked header established parity for the home side.

But just as Brentford were tiring, James Maddison delivered the sucker punch, his first goal in eight months.
