AFC Wimbledon’s League One match against Wigan Athletic at Plough Lane on Wednesday has been called off due positive COVID-19 results in the away team’s camp.
The Dons were told to play Saturday’s match at home to Lincoln City despite having four players with Covid and one player self-isolating.
The Dons lost 2-1 and now sit one place above the relegation zone.
Wigan are second-bottom in the league.
A Dons spokesman said: “ AFC Wimbledon’s home game against Wigan Athletic will not take place on Wednesday, January 6 with a decision taken to postpone it. “An EFL statement said that Wigan informed the league that they would be unable to fulfil their next two fixtures following several positive COVID-19 tests and the requirements for players and staff to self-isolate, as per EFL and government guidance. “The circumstances surrounding the postponements will now be subject of an investigation, in accordance with EFL regulations. “We will announce a rearranged date for the Wigan game in due course.”
