Pulisic is ready should Chelsea buy big in January transfer winow
Christen Pulisic is ready for the challenge should Chelsea go out and spend big in the transfer market this month.
The US wide man, 21, bought for £58million from Borussia Dortmund last January could be one of the players feeling the pinch should Frank Lampard bring in winger Wilfried Zaha or Jadon Sancho – both players are strongly linked with moves and the lure for Chelsea for both is strong.
But Pulisic is happy at the situation.
He said: “Yeah, I mean it is normal, clubs look to improve their team and and if players do come in there is competition, that is how it goes.
“So we'll be ready for that and hopefully we'll have players that come in and want to help us.”
Chelsea drew 1-1 at Brighton yesterday
Pulisic said: “After we scored the first goal, it was just about continuing and just not stopping there, making it two or three and putting the game to bed.
“We've had troubles with that this year and then in the end, they fought until the end, scored a great goal and that is how it goes. We need to be clinical, show experience and know how to manage a game.
“It is doing a bit more to keep going, attack and create chances and just have that killer instinct. Just a little bit of that, we are missing that.
“I can do better with that as well. Just being more clinical in the final third, finding the right pass or shot and scoring the goals.
Chelsea face Nottingham Forest on Sunday in the FA Cup 3rd round at Stamford Bridge.
It will be the first time, if selected that Pulisic will have experienced the competition.
He said: “Yeah I've heard of the FA Cup. It is another competition and we want to win so we'll give everything and I am really excited for it.
“It is another opportunity for a trophy and that is why we are always going to fight and try to win that.”
