Summer signing Kieran Tierney will make his debut for Arsenal in their Carabao Cup third round clash against Nottingham Forest at the Emirates.
The Scottish international full-back, signed for around £25m, makes his first start as a Gunner after recovering from a double hernia operation following an injury picked up last season when at Celtic.
Rob Holding, who was so impressive for the Gunners last season until a knee injury sustained against Manchester United ruled him out for nine months, also makes a return to the side, which sees 11 changes to the team which started against Aston Villa here on Sunday.
And Hector Bellerin, again a long-term absentee, this time a knee injury picked-up against Chelsea in January, starts from the substitutes bench.
The full Gunners side is as follows: Martinez, Tierney, Ozil, Torreira, Holding, Mustafi, Chambers, Nelson, Willock, Smith Rowe, Martinelli Subs: Bellerin, Ceballos, Macey, Balogun, Bola, Burton, Saka
Kick-off at the Emirates has been delayed by 15 minutes, until 8pm, due to travel issues affecting supporters.
