Plenty more to come from Ndombele, says Spurs boss
Mauricio Pochettino says Tottenham new boy Tanguy Ndmobele still has massive room for improvement, in spite of his highly satisfying league debut.
The French midfielder, signed from Lyon in the summer, cracked home a 73rd minute equaliser against Aston Villa, paving the way for a 3-1 victory.
It is a rare goal for the 22-year-old, who was none to prolific in the French league, in spite of his obvious talents and he needs to weigh in with more goals, according to the Tottenham boss.
“It’s one of those aspects he needs to work on,” Pochettino said.
“He doesn’t score too much, and it’s one of the areas for him to improve this season.
“He scored in his first game, and I’m delighted for him, so pleased for him. You know very well that a player who arrives from a different country, it’s difficult for adaptation and that’s going to help him feel happy, of course, comfortable on the pitch and with the team.
“Overall, it was a fantastic performance, but, to be honest, he can improve. He showed only 30-40 per cent of his potential.”
